How Do You Style The Prince of Wales Check and Windowpane Odd Jacket

What image will suddenly come into your mind if I say sport jacket/ sport coat? the colours and patterns aren't they?.

Therefore, I thought to write and share with you some of my favourite patterns which are versatile and elegant, especially for sports jackets/ sport coats also safari jackets as well.

Actually, some of us already knew these patterns visually but perhaps we need to be made aware of the name of the patterns and how we could style them with our outfits.

However, I would like to begin with the glen check also known as the Prince of Wales check (King Edward VIII) who popularized this pattern to the world of men's style, besides it actually originated in Scotland and obviously it one of the timeless and elegant patterns.

Although you could find this pattern in various colours, for me, I always stick with the mid-grey glen check and most importantly as always double-breasted, the reason because is such an elegant, timeless piece of garment that its quite easy to pair with odd trousers like navy blue, light grey, cream colour trousers and denim jeans as well.

I perceive such patterns as a glen check or a windowpane are appropriate for double-breast jackets and even for a suit as well.

Literally, I love the grey glen check double-breasted suit and odd jackets; because of the charismatic, elegance and timeless look, therefore, I suggest to you own a grey glen check double-breasted or perhaps a single-breasted (if you would like to) suit or an odd jacket in your wardrobe.

In terms of choosing the right dress shirt combination; the pin-stripe/micro-check dress shirt (if you would like to add a bit more patterns to your outfit) is the appropriate pattern that could mix with a glen check suit/ odd jacket, otherwise, plain dress shirts are always the best option also you could try the Winchester shirts as well, and for ties, the regimental striped ties and grenadine ties are a nice complement.

On the other hand, I pretty much admire wearing cream colour odd trousers, a chambray shirt with dark brown, black, bottle green grenadine or knitted ties, layered by a grey glen check double-breasted odd jacket and end up with a pair of black or dark brown tassel loafers,

and also blue denim jeans with a navy/ cream colour turtleneck layered with a single-breasted grey glen check odd jacket and end up with brown suede chukka boots or might be dark brown/ black suede Belgian loafers and as a final touch add some pretty good pocket square.

Nevertheless, the windowpane is a relatively large check pattern that could be in the shape of square or rectangular also the lines of the checks could be bold and pale as well.

However, I would prefer a windowpane pattern fabric to wear as an odd jacket rather than a suit but if you would like to wear it as a suit then for better you choose quite a subtle and pale windowpane pattern, besides it's such a versatile and timeless pattern.

Although we could find this pattern in various colours; therefore, the windowpane odd jacket that we could pair with our odd trousers and denim jeans as well; actually will create a flamboyant look.
