Supposed to have these accessories in your wardrobe when you wearing a tuxedo | black-tie essentials

Indeed, wearing a tuxedo (black-tie attire) requires sort of significant specifications such as choosing fabrics, the style of the garment that has to be well tailored and most importantly the accessories.

Therefore I thought it might be helpful; if I write about the essential accessories that require to wear with a tuxedo, essentially the black bow tie is the only neckwear you could wear with your tuxedo; which ought to be made of the same fabric as the lapel facing of your tuxedo jacket/ dinner jacket, for more to read about bow ties click here to read my previous article.

Therefore, when we wear a tuxedo our waist is supposed to be covered by a waistcoat if it is a three-piece tuxedo suit ( a jacket, waistcoat, and trousers), otherwise, we must use cummerbund to cover our waist and make sure that supposed to be made of silk or grosgrain and the pleats on the cummerbund have to face upwards.

However, the waistband of the trousers is supposed to have side tabs (side adjusters) which would help our trousers nicely fit on our waist, on the other hand, we could only use braces (black/ white), never use belts and even though the tuxedo trousers waistband never has the belt loops on it.

A tuxedo shirt (click here to know more about a tuxedo shirt) is predominantly designed with french cuffs and a french placket, therefore, we are supposed to fasten the shirt and the shirt cuffs with cufflinks and shirt studs; hence we need a nice pair of cufflinks and shirt studs, beside the cufflinks must be simple and elegant, never go for a fancy one.

Although, if you would like to add a bit more flair to your outfit then add a white cotton/ linen or silk pocket square with a simple TV fold also known as the presidential fold which would give a nice compliment to your overall look.

Nevertheless, in terms of choosing a pair of shoes for a tuxedo, We have three options first one is a cap-toe oxford (patent leather/ calfskin), and most importantly if your cap-toe oxford is made of calfskin then make sure that should be well polished and mirror shine on the toe and heal counter, the second one is patent leather opera pumps and the third is a velvet slip-on, and the socks should be black dress socks (a pair of black silk dress socks is preferable).
